Bob lent me his BERU PA to have a look at.

These are the photos....

Using an Elecraft EC2 enclosure as a size gauge.

Top cover off

The QSK is managed with a mezzanine board from HardRock-50 project, note the use of SMA connectors.

LPF is that from a PIC-A-STAR G4TZR, using the Farnell 500V capacitors I note

VSWR in a tin plate box, along with control cables to a com port. The blue capacitor is across the input DC.

Front panel LCD with simple switch (in use doesn't tell you much just it is powered on, band in use and the vswr/pwr out). Honestly do they need to say more? This was a PICAXE project the controller is behind the front panel.

Rear input side.... BNC RF, phono is PTT, Anderson power pole DC input and comport for band switch info from rig

Rear output side. The two cooling fans are 24V versions I think running at 6V.
Under the black heatsink is the G6ALU

Me at the remote station.

Thursday, 6 October 2016

Going to be the guerilla pop up station at RSGB Convention.

Here I was testing it in the pub last night speaking to M1ACB and G7SOZ.

The station REAL RF end is at G3PJT QTH.

K3, KPA500 (if turned on) and decent antennas, including a rotator.

The station was put together by G3PJT, G7VJR and a host of others.
Go to Bob G3PJT and Michael's G7VJR presentations at RSGB Convention for more info or come find me about the place.

There will still be loads (IOTA mostly) that have never been computerised.

Since about 2011 I have NOT sent physical QSL card to 100% of all QSO made on trips but have chosen to wait for QSL requests after having had many 3B8 cards from 2008 returned.

clublog OQRS means that I will get quite a few requests for QSL cards, that might not have been sent before.
